News & Announcements

Important Reminder!

Students can not carry any medication on them at school, nor leave it in their vehicles. If your student needs to take medication at school, an adult will need to bring the medication to school with the required doctor’s form, available here: https://sqhs.monroe.k12.tn.us/apps/pages/schoolmedicationinformation or click Read Full Story or the title of this news article.
This includes all over-the-counter medication (even cough drops), per T.C.A. 49-5-415.

If you have completed a clinic form, those medications are available for your student with your written permission, no doctor’s note is required, and will be stored and administered by the school’s nurse.

If any student is in possession of medication, he/she will face disciplinary action by the school administration. See the student handbook for more information.

JROTC Interest Survey

There has been some interest in beginning a Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corp (JROTC) program at Sequoyah High School. JROTC programs can be found in high schools throughout the United States. We want to gauge the interest of student and parent participation in a JROTC program. We are seeking student and parent input from Madisonville and Vonore Middle Schools and Sequoyah High School. Click above to access the JROTC survey, which will be open until December 16, 2022.

Share Your Feedback to Improve Our CTE Program

Parents play a vital role in their child's academic, intellectual, social, and emotional growth. Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses are predominately project-based classes where students can potentially earn professional certifications and prepare for direct entry into careers or educational programs after graduation. Providing your feedback will help to improve our CTE program.

Oct. 4th ACT for Seniors-Independent Study Day for 9th, 10th, 11th graders

All Seniors need to be present and seated in their assigned testing rooms by 8am on Tuesday, October 4th. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL. It is an independent study day for them and they should follow their teachers' directions on any work due for the day or check their Google Classrooms for any assignments.
If any Seniors wish to leave school after being dismissed from their testing rooms, they MUST bring a parent note with them the morning of testing to be allowed to leave campus. They will NOT be allowed to go to the office to call home for parents to check them out. If they do not have a parent note, they will be going to the gym to sit until the end of the school day after the ACT is finished. There may be some activities for them with some of our P.E. teachers or possibly some activities related to college prep activities, depending on how many students stay at school.
Please note: In the spring, March 7th, when Juniors take the ACT, all seniors will have an independent study day.
