The FAFSA application for 2021-2022 opened up on October 1. The 2021-2022 FAFSA must be completed using 2019 tax information no later than 11:59 pm on February 1, 2021 in order to remain eligible for TN Promise. Submitting a FAFSA is a requirement for admission to any college/university/TCAT regardless of whether or not you intend to utilize the TN Promise Scholarship. Before starting the FAFSA, students are required to create an FSA ID at fsaid.ed.gov using the student's personal information in order to fill the 2021-2022 FAFSA. The FSA ID give you access to the Federal Student Aid's online systems and serves as the legal signature for your FAFSA. Your parent(s) or guardian(s) will be required to create their own FSA ID to sign your FAFSA as well. Please note that parents and students CANNOT use the same email address to create their FSA ID's. ***It is important to remember that creating the FSA ID is NOT the same as filing the FAFSA- it is simply the student and parent's login information that is required to begin, complete and/or edit the FAFSA. After you have submitted your 2021-2022 FAFSA you will receive an email confirmation from Federal Student Aid. Do NOT delete this email. If you do not receive a confirmation email then your FAFSA was NOT successfully submitted. If you have questions or need help filing your FAFSA, see Mrs. Harris.
