Sequoyah Bands

Marching Band is a competitive ensemble that begins rehearsal in July with our Summer Band Camp. Then once school starts we begin regular practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the end of school until 7pm. Each Marching Season we prepare a field show that we will compete with at various marching contests. We also perform this field show at every home football game. As well as pep band music/ pop music in the stands during the game. The Marching Band also performs for various community events such as parades and showcases. 

 

Marching Band is the face of Sequoyah Bands, due to it having the largest public presence. Members of the band need to uphold the legacy of our program and act in a way that represents Sequoyah High School. 

 

For those interested in Marching Band for the Fall 2025 Marching Season, there is a MANDATORY Parent Meeting on April 8th at 6pm. In this meeting we will discuss:

- Band Camp/ Rehearsal Schedule

- Competitions/ Football Schedule

- Student requirements

- Band Fees 

- etc.

 

Concert Band is an ensemble that performs a variety of the Wind Ensemble repertoire in the Spring Semester. For concert dates, please look at our calendar.

 

Winter Guard is a competitive ensemble that competes in the Spring Semester. This group is comprised of our Guard members, and also open for new members wishing to join. 

 

Rehearsals for winter guard are every Tuesday and Thursday until 6pm. 

 

Jazz is America's music. This is the only music genre that is special to us. This is an ensemble that meets after school on Thursdays until 5pm. This group gets to study all things that make up jazz like swing, blues, and anything that can be considered jazz

 

Percussion club is an after school group that meets on Mondays until 4pm. This group is open to anyone who is interested in all things Marching Percussion, Concert Percussion, Mallets, Drum Set, etc. This group learns the fundamentals to playing all these instruments and even learns a piece to be able to play at the spring concert.
