Mrs. Tina Benson
My name is Mrs. Tina Benson. I have been teaching for a long time here in Monroe County! This is my 27th year! The first 26 years of my career, I was a third grade teacher alongside my very best friend, Donna Bowers. I taught all subjects for many years, but I eventually found a passion for teaching Reading. I will forever treasure my memories as a third grade teacher, but this year...it was time for a CHANGE! I am so excited to be a part of the faculty here at SQHS! I am teaching Personal Finance and loving it! I am also coaching the Sequoyah cheerleaders this year. Building relationships with my students has always been very important to me. I feel like I'm already able to do that with the students here at Sequoyah in just the first weeks of school! I love meeting new students that I never had the opportunity to teach, and I also LOVE getting to teach some of my former students again in class as well!!!
I am a local girl, born and raised in Monroe County. I am married to Randal Benson, who teaches 8th grade math at Vonore Middle School. We have 3 awesome children. Our oldest son is Trace. He graduated from Sequoyah. He is 23 years old and works for Service Electric company. He is currently attending Lazy Q climbing school in Texas! Our next son is Justice, who graduated from SQHS as well. He literally works alllll the time. He works for a local lawncare business while running a lawncare business of his own as well. Our youngest is our daughter Landria, a senior here at SQHS. It's an extra blessing that I get to be here to share memories with her this year. She is a cheerleader for Sequoyah and loves it! Together as a family we love camping, hiking, and going on Jeep rides. We attend First Baptist Church here in Madisonville.
