Information Technology:  Computer Science Foundations, Coding I, Coding II, and Coding Practicum

Course description:
Computer Science Foundations (CSF) exposes students to various information technology professions that are predicted to grow over the next several years.  Students will identify an understanding of electronics, basic digital theory, project management, and client relations. They will identify causes and prevention of internet security breaches.  Throughout the course students will identify fundamental concepts like input, output, hardware, software, and storage.  Assessment will consist of daily work, test and projects. Students are required to have a flash drive.

Coding I - provides students the fundamentals of computer programming.  Emphasis is placed on standard programming techniques and learning logic tools and methods used to create simple computer applications. The Coding class will begin working with the programming language python.  Following the completion of identifying the fundamentals of python students will begin programming simple applications. Proficient students will be able to solve multi step problems, write and revise programs from workflow charts and diagrams into a computer language.
