About me
Welcome to my page!
I started my post-secondary career at Hiwassee College as a student-athlete playing softball and volleyball. I graduated in 2013 with my bachelor’s degree in mass media communications with a minor in psychology. Immediately after, I attended Carson-Newman University, obtaining my master’s in School Counseling in 2016. I started my school counseling career in Sweetwater City Schools before deciding to pursue more experience in the clinical counseling world. I worked as a Clinical Supervisor for the private counseling sector for four years. After those four years, I felt it was time to return that knowledge to the school system. I was the school counselor at Madisonville Middle School from 2021-2022, and now I am at SQHS. I currently am pursuing my Doctorate in Education: Administration & Supervision: Education Leadership.
I am married to my best friend Mika, and we have three dogs who are our kiddos. I am an assistant softball coach at Sequoyah and enjoy all sports! I love to work out for both physical and mental well-being, cook, antiquing, and watch comedy movies. I am a lover of Alabama and NOLA Saints football, Braves baseball, and GSW basketball.
I really enjoy my career and working with students to find their path in life. Furthermore, I enjoy helping students reach their full potential and hearing their success stories. I believe that every student needs a champion in their life, and we can all serve as one for them.
