Semester Exam Policy & Information

It is our policy to follow the Monroe County Policy:
Academic Card Holders are exempt from semester exams but must maintain at least a “B” average per class with no unexcused absences per class. The student may have no more than two excused (2) absences. Any student with a minimum 70 average will be exempt from a course semester exam if that student has no more than 1 excused absence in that course. Students with any unexcused absence or absences due to disciplinary action (includes Interim Alternative Educational Setting IAES and alternative school) are not eligible for exemptions.
Block courses with an EOC ​this​ semester are ​not ​required to give a semester exam. All other courses are required to give a semester exam.​ ​There is no provision for teacher discretion regarding administration of the semester exams​. ​Follow the exemption criteria listed below.​ ​Completed /graded semester exams are to be filed in the office at the end of the testing week. Exams should be a ​comprehensive assessment of objectives c​overed. ​The student must take the exam on the designated day/time. Administration must approve any deviations.

Any students remaining on campus after lunch will report to the gym for the remainder of the day. If exempt from all exams: The student is not permitted on this or any other school campus during testing times.
If exempt from one or more test: If the student does not have a test until later in the morning, the student does not have to come to school until 5 minutes before their exams. Students must sign in. Once testing begins, students may not leave until the testing period is over.
After all exams have been completed for the day, students with written permission (no faxes or phone calls) should leave thru the back doors at the gym. Permission slips will be collected as students leave.
Parents picking up students (without a note) must come into the back of the building to sign the student out.
If students have additional absences after December 14, this will change their exemption status.
